BSTL recently launched a new bespoke service that fulfils the requirements of the latest Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services: Standards. Part A. Fifth Edition. Edited by Alison M Beaney, D Prof, MSc, FRPharmS (2016). BSTL can supply test kits and professional guidance for performing monitoring of cytotoxic surface contamination within the hospital pharmacy environment which now must be performed at least on an annual basis.
BSTL also provides surface monitoring services to support oncology nursing to help understand the levels of contamination in and around the administration space. We can provide robust scientific data to better understand the practices and associated occupational exposure levels typically found on oncology wards and so provide the basis for implementing better controls, helping to protect nurses from accidental exposure to these potentially harmful drugs.
